Finally got the VISA Power.....

Well this was truly the most memorable day of my Life...
I was pretty tensed a day before the VISA interview , but was not tensed on the day (12th July) of the interview.....

Reached the Consulate well before time at 8.45 am and waited in the queue till 9.45am....
Was taken inside and then an 1.5 hr wait inside the Consulate.....

Vikram Gangal my classmate also had his interview and our tokens were called out at the same counter (Counter No. 7)

Vikram was the first to go , I was watching carefully and trying to read the lips of VO as to what kind of questions he is asking.....

As soon as Vikram opened his folder to take ou some docs, I assumed that this would not be a cakewalk....
2 mins VO is still asking questions to Vikram and asking for different documents....

3 mins still inside....
4 mins and finally he came out ...

I was next in queue, so went inside....

VO : Hey , How r u ?
Me: Fine , Thank You...

VO: Why have u selected NCSU ?
Me: Told abt uniqueness of my course (MS in CN )

VO : Which other univs applied ??
ME: Applied to 9 (5-admits 4-Rejects)

VO : Which field have u done ur Undergrad??
ME: Computer Engineering ..

VO: Which yr u completed ?
ME: This year

VO: Can i see ur course completion certificate
ME: Gave it...
(He read each and every word of the letter and handed it back 2 me...)

VO: How r u going to pay ??
ME : First yr's tuition fee in bank ....

VO: Who is sponsoring you ??
ME: My Uncle ....

(I knew this was coming....had prepared answer since ages)
VO : Why is ur Uncle sponsoring and not ur Father ??
ME: Some good answer .....()

VO : Whats ur Uncle's annual income ?
ME : said ______ lacs this yr......and ____ lac previous yr..(mentioned this coz previous yrs income was more than this yr)

(I think he did not believe me and hence asked me for IT return papers (i.e Saral 2D))
VO : Can i see the 2D forms ??
Me: Handed over to him the one which had more income...

VO : What does ur Uncle do ?

ME: Told...

VO: What is the name of the company ??
ME: Told...

VO : Where r the projects being carried out ??
ME: Told...

VO: Are they in Mumbai ??
ME: NO just outside Mumbai limits...

VO : Can I see ur Bank Statements
ME: Gave ....
(Viewed them carefully and handed it to me....)

VO : What is ur Date of Birth ??
ME: told.....

VO : ur VISA is issued....
ME: Thank You.....(Collected the I-20 and left)


Can you believe it , so many docs asked to a student !!!
It took approx 4 mins but I was not tensed as i Knew already that this guys is taking long....


Neways ...That was it....
And finally I started shopping with a bang....
straight away spent Rs 5000 /- on clothes.....

So... it was an exciting day overall....

Farewell to Sahil

Well, Today again 12 Dhokla's -1 (Amruta) had met at Infinity Mall (Lokhandwala) to meet Sahil as he will be Leaving tomorrow (9th July) to join AMDOCS at Pune.....

The meeting was usual farewell similar to that we had when Amruta left (in the Tempo Traveller)...
Sahil gave advice to everyone and also took advice from us....

Thats it, sat at the food court for about 2 hrs and then every1 left....

Came home by 9.15pm and had Dosa's ....which I will have to learn to cook...
Discussed some financial issues with dad and enlightened my Mom about what I will be doing in my MS .....

LONAVALA (3rd July 2006)

12 Dhokla's : Amruta, Dhruv, Hussein, Hardik,Jayini ,Kunal, Karishma , Nirali, Reshma, Sahil, Yuvaraj , Zainab.

Well, finally everything was finalised for the picnic, but on the morning of the picnic there was a lil hiccup in the plan.....
Its was raining quite heavily and all news channels were asking citizens to stay at home, so my Dad got worried and told me not to go for the picninc....
After about 30 mins of discussions with my friends and my father, I left my place without the picnic mood as my dad was against that decision.....
Because of the delay, I reached about 1 hr late at Center One (Vashi) and all my friends had to wait for me.... Usually I am always on time (or b4 time), but that was a day when no1 wud have tolerated me to be late, so quite obviously every1 was angry on me and decided not to talk 2 me and ignore my presence....
I sensed that something was fishy so didnt react much, and finally came to know that I was made the Bakra (Dhokla Bakra)..... It was a bad idea neways (whoever it was)....

Well ,after that we had a debate on which game to play (Antakshari or Dumbsharads)...majority wanted to play Dumbsharads....
Well, my team won ,so didnt play ne further....
Reached lonavala and went to Lion's point, which has a great view of the valley ....but unluckily the fog was dense and couldnt even get a glimpse of the awesome view....
Had Kanda Bhajji and cutting-chai , Pounced on the first plate of bhajji like anything....
also had corn and after debating with the bhajia wala on the cost of each plate, gave him the money and left for Bushy Dam.....
There was water logging on the way to Bushy dam , so dropped the idea of going there and instead went to another waterfall on the road towards Bushy Dam.....
Had great fun bathing in the Fresh Water....also water was flowing with great force and had to protect our head with a cap....
After bathing,we decided to trek....
Yuvaraj , Reshma and I started trekking and reached the highest point and were later followed by Kunal and Hussein...After reaching the highest point , Yuvaraj and I were shouting like Tarzan, on top of our voices....
I was lil scared while climbing down, but my fears reduced after watching hussein just walking down without any fear ....
After trekking down , and changing , we went to Rama Krishna for lunch at 4.00pm ...Left Lonavala at 5.40 pm and reached Center One (Vashi) at 7.30....
